Mastrov = CC Out.

A while back I announced my impending retirement from Warriors basketball:

My Retirement Announcement...

As soon as Andris Biedrins and/or Monta Ellis are traded, I'm quitting the Warriors for good.

I'll consider returning if Larry Ellison or someone else purchases the team (under no circumstances will I return if the worthless minority owners purchase full stake). But I don't see that happening any time soon with the Real Cohan being a stupid prick about the sale price.

I've seen enough "Wait until NEXT next year- THIS is our future core for realsies this time!" PR campaigns in this life.

This blog, my twitter account, and all fan forum participation will cease upon the inevitable trade(s).

Signed,
CC

I suppose there is a solid keep-me-around possibility on the table now that the minority owners joined up with Larry Ellison. And I revised the Ellis/Biedrins trade trigger to allow some faith retention in the event of a major talent acquisition (Andre Iguodala is interesting, for example).

But if the new owner is Mark Mastrov, I'm out. That shit head is the same as Cohan. And his right hand man Jim Rowley is a fucking Robert Rowell-grade fucktard. Pass:

"It comes down to how you measure a successful franchise," Rowley said. "They may not translate well on the court, but they've put together a good entertainment package at the game and they've made a lot of money."

Money in their pockets, gimmicks on their court, many losses in our future. No league cred whatsoever. And no, Magic Johnson the "basketball mind" is not league cred. But I'm sure he and Mastrov have some tycoon-wife Country Club fundraising luncheon event connections. Maybe they even sat next to each other once.

Mastrov and Rowley are in on all the crappy logo and crappy offseason moves if they're the buyers and they're keeping Larry Riley around per all info to date. Looks like I'm about to finally write that fucking book. Maybe I'll take a nice trip.

If it's Larry Ellison and he ponied up big money after all, egg on my face.

  1. how can you be against trading Monta? The Warriors are better without him...the guy is essentially worthless...he puts up good numbers, but does absolutely nothing to improve the team... he can't play the point, but is too small to play shooting guard... he adds nothing to the team that Stephen Curry doesn't provide (which is why he pulled that crap with Curry last year... he knew he had a teammate that was a more talented version of himself AND is capable of playing the point)... plus he's a headcase and a cancer...
    Although, because of all this, I'd be surprised if he got traded... the warriors are holding out hope some team will overpay, but I think most GMs already realize how vastly overrated he is.
