As soon as Andris Biedrins and/or Monta Ellis are traded, I'm quitting the Warriors for good.
I'll consider returning if Larry Ellison or someone else purchases the team (under no circumstances will I return if the worthless minority owners purchase full stake). But I don't see that happening any time soon with the Real Cohan being a stupid prick about the sale price.
I've seen enough "Wait until NEXT next year- THIS is our future core for realsies this time!" PR campaigns in this life.
This blog, my twitter account, and all fan forum participation will cease upon the inevitable trade(s).

What a loss that will be.
ReplyDeleteSurprised you haven't quit already. Can't believe you've lasted this long given the amount of negativity you seem to have for the team. I don't agree with a couple of your stranger talking points (Curry and Chris Paul) but have appreciated your passion and insight.
ReplyDeleteI would hate to see either Ellis or Biedrins go as well. Both seem talented, care about basketball, are young, and have generally gotten better each year they've been in the league.

I read Bill Simmons article today and although I am not a season ticket holder it accurately pinpoints my sentiments towards the Warriors. Too many false hopes, lies and PR campaigns.
ReplyDeleteI'll miss you, but I may not be far behind in just walking away (until a new owner). The more I find out the more repulsive it is just giving them any attention.
Don't delete the blog. This is an excellent body of work.
Who knows? I may not be able to stay away. I hope you don't completely disappear.
Of course, try not to be a stranger, stranger.
Can't say I blame you. I have read you for quite some time (years) on TK's blog, other Merc blogs, and RealGM. I share many of the same sentiments as you. I half expect the team to get rid of both Ellis and Biedrins somehow someway by the time I finish typing this rambling post. Sooo...later man.
ReplyDeleteLarry Ellison
let the de-value the player trade talks begin...only the gsw's
ReplyDeleteYeah, while the Curry stuff is goofy I just had to come on here to say you were definitely on-target with AB a long time ago. He never seemed as disgruntled as you said he was, but it probably just wasn't so apparent yet.
ReplyDeleteWarriors making an artform of devaluing their talent so it can be exchanged for less-expensive pieces.
Thanks to all for your comments.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Monta, Andris, and the terrible ROWELL signing of Maggette can really see a further value decline at this point. It gets worse yet. And it doesn't get better with these clowns. Lucked into the playoffs in 2007 (thanks Clippers!), nothing to show for it since.
