Biedrins and Randolph on the trading block.

Warriors offered them for Bosh but were rejected at the February trade deadline. Then they played Randolph. Team President Robert Rowell concocted some contrived "they asked US for those two" talk point plant after the fact to cover up his complete and utter lameness as a basketball "mind."

Now the Warriors are scouting international shitwing centers and talking up Turiaf as their incumbent starting C.

Bye bye, Andris Biedrins and Anthony Randolph!
Nellie's drunk.

Look around and you'll find that all of this has been verified in independent, professional news outlets at various times. I'm lazy today so no links. Deal.

Happy Mothers Day!

  1. I haven't read that anywhere else but I'm lazy, too. Still, if true, why would Toronto turn down that offer?

  2. Hey stack,

    Best guess:

Biedrins would have been nearly impossible to trade in a host of deals due to his significant salary increase, and Randolph would only pull the face value up to within $4 million-ish of Bosh's big salary.

Guarantee other parts like Maggette, Jackson, Kapono, etc. were in the mix.

Maggette was known to be on the market just about the day after Rowell foolishly signed him. All signs and ESPN trade reports say so(Stein and Bucher have far more cred than Ray Ridder and the online PR Stooge apologists in pretty much everyone but Ridder and the OPSA books). That move failed miserably. Rowell misread league interest severely if he thought overpaying in a big way would net him anything but renewed league ridicule for the team's incompetence. But folks do this shit all the time, thinking control of a moderately desirable player is an asset when, in fact, the heinous cash commitment required to control a moderately desirable veteran on a non-contending team far outweighs virtual trade worth. Especially when Rowell and his cohorts routinely fuck up communication of player evaluations and trade interests (or so the world tells us).

No surprise Toronto wasn't interested, even if shitwings like Belinelli, with heavily played "connections" to the Italian Raptor contingency, were tossed on the heap.

Because one of the stupid 5 year commitments to a problem shitwing was definitely kept on the table.

  3. I kind of figured they were on the trading block when the Bosh discussions came up and they were at the center of the conversation. So I am happy that they didn't (couldn't?) trade Randolph because he hadn't been playing at all (kind of ironic how incompetent that makes them look).

I am firmly against the rent-a-bosh movement. Trading 2 for 1 with all big men means drafting another unpolished big man (which would mean hyping a Wright revival to try and cover up the stink of trading randolph) or getting one in this crap FA. Either way putting up with the same shitwings next year.

Take into consideration that Bosh is one of the many Olympians entering the 2010 FA with little or no sentimental attachment to his current team and you have a recipe for disaster. The man clearly has a plan for his career. Why would he pass up the opportunity to more or less create a team of superstars in order to play under the meddlings of Chris Cohan, Robert Rowell, and Don Nelson? That would be pretty fucking stupid. The guy will basically get his choice of teammates and coaches in 2010. I'm sure the prospect is so frightening to Bosh that he can't wait for a team with a historically bad reputation to fix him with a contractual ball and chain.

All I can say is that Rowell really must have needed the season ticket renewals Bosh would have brought. Trading Randolph for Bosh would be yet another knee-jerk reaction, a heart breaker for the fans, and another heartbreak in the making. All for that sweet sweet $$$ in the short term.

    No thank you.

  5. Right when I thought I had a handle that would allow me to relax until school ends they have to jump the gun on the Mullin situation.

Mine will be out next weekend after my paper is due and the dust settles a bit.

I've prepared my psyche for some real stinkers this summer. Hopefully not a Wright revival (that may be too much paired with the loss of Randolph).

My worst nightmare is that they'll sign some mediocre player to an 8-9 mil long term contract. Then they draft a player who can get no minutes without hurting the team. That usually means a 6-6 to 6-11 beanstalk for nellie or a polished turdz... I mean Kurz. Then they'll try to use Crawford off the bench with Maggette and the only thing that will stop the on-court disputes are the fines the team levees for arguing in front of everyone. Injuries pile up. You know the drill.

    Looking forward to your next.

  7. This guy might not be very good , and he is definitely dumb as a rock , but he should be cheap to sign. Which should excite Bobby Rowell! He's 6'9" and plays like 6'5", which is perfect size for a Nellie s**wing.

  8. The incompetency of this franchise is astounding. My 30 year support of this franchise is hanging on by a very very very thin thread. Unbelievable.

  10. Hey CC do you think this has any legs?......I talked to one NBA executive in Los Angeles on Tuesday who said it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Clippers reoffer Baron Davis to the Warriors for Corey Maggette if the Clips can land Ricky Rubio in the draft.(ESPN) Shit here we go again.......... Boycott is the answer
