The Kings are apparently on the verge of getting free of the Shareef Abdur-Rahim contract, now and forever. They can axe Mikki Moore's unguaranteed $6 million or so for next year and, really, who wouldn't? MLE Gone Wild, yet again. And Sac is one of those teams everyone knows is doing the full-on rebuild but they haven't complicated matters by drastically overrating and overpaying incumbents and low-grade free agents like another team we all know and love. Sure, Beno Udrih and Francisco Garcia are useless poons way too often, but they don't hurt at all if the other dead weight is gone. Look it up. I'm right. Sac is about to run right past us. Again. Under Cohan's watch. Again.

So when you see Sacramento moving out players in the very near future (NBA Trade Deadline mere weeks away) and taking back not much in the way of future salary, plus probably more than a few first round draft picks for players like Miller and Salmons, you have to take a look at not only their incredible flexibility for 2010, but the coming offseason, as well, and as a Warrior fan, you have to throw up in your mouth a little. Not because you have manorexia and need to get into those sweet designer jeans you saw Marco matching with hideous shoes at the last Douchebag Bench Summit at Oracle.
Just because you have to.
*UPDATE: Monta still on the trading block.
Warriorsworld is reporting that Monta Ellis was on the block for Carlos Boozer but something about Boozer being a douche bag who would bolt and Belinelli being a supposedly valuable player held it all up, even though the move makes perfect sense for everyone.

With the Monta trade rumor mill still not shut the eff up by The Old Drunk and the league's lamest PR Team, the Warriors are suddenly trying to suggest they've got a product worth giving a shit about even WITHOUT Monta!
Seriously. That's where the blogosophere is headed now.
And of course, Monta's 3rd or 4th game back is the nationally televised grudge match in Dallas I said they'd be just the sort of dumb fuck team to activate him for, even if they shouldn't. So it's all still over for good in WeBelieveVille, in case a scintillating victory against an 8 man D League squad about to clear out its vets had you convinced we were playoff bound.
National TV = League Value Up.
Just ask Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson.
Bye bye, Monta.

My heart was going to say eff you, but my better senses tell me that there is a pretty good chance that your ramblings have merit.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if we gargle the league's nards long enough we may draft an impact player (entirely by chance of course) and get at least one year of awesomeness. Assuming they played said impact player or did not trade him.........fat chance.
I like Marco's shoes.
ReplyDeleteNuck,
ReplyDeleteI have Family Joels, too. Crazy.
We're going nowhere fast. The PR team is pitching the next season crap and Russ Turner says we've got something to play for THIS year (not playoffs, just pride I suppose).
But it's dead. Monta is on the block, Jackson and Maggette are on the block, everyone is on the block.
Total fucking mess.
Anon:
ReplyDeleteMarco is a worthless schmuck.
Glad you like his shoes though.
Jackson is going to Cleveland for expirings..book it
ReplyDeleteflya,
ReplyDeleteThat would be great. I remember when he was getting his extension worked out and someone asked him abot a possible trade, something with Detroit for Tayshaun Prince.
He flatly denied comment or something.
I wish we had traded him when we could.
NO ONE wants that piece of shit now.
Indiana won the trade.
